Furcraea selloa (Kunth, 1843) It forms large rosettes with an appearance similar to Agave. It features rigid, long, lance-shaped leaves that are very pointed and have spiny edges. There are different varieties, ranging from dark green to variegated. The single flower stalk can reach up to 8 meters in height. After flowering, the mother plant dies, leaving behind seeds and bulbils. It is drought-resistant but sensitive to intense cold. It is used as an ornamental plant and for fiber production.
